When you move to the City of Jonesboro, you will need to establish some basic utility services in order to make your new house or apartment feel more like home. Below are a list of services and service providers you will need to contact in order to establish water, electricity, and telephone services.
New Water and Waste Water Utility Service with the City of Jonesboro: You can establish your new utility account during our normal business hours by coming in person to fill out the Customer Information Form and pay your deposit. The utility deposit is $250.00, which must be paid to establish water service. Please note we do not turn water on Saturday or Sunday. If you have any questions, please call 765-674-1196. Billing for utility services is monthly. New bills are issued on the 1st and are due by the 15th of every month. Utility bills are assessed a penalty if not paid by the end of the day on the 15th of the month, which will be 10% of your wastewater charge, and 10% of your water charge. All customers with un-paid bills as of the 26th of the month will have their water services disconnected and be required to pay a $40.00 reconnect fee.
ATTENTION: Tampering with a Meter is punishable by a fee of $200.00.
